Summary: Mouser Electronics is an award-winning global distributor of semiconductors and electronic components. They are seeking an Information Services Intern to develop and deliver AI-driven tools and applications, while gaining hands-on experience in various departmental processes. Responsibilities: - Develop, enhance, and deliver a single AI-driven tool, microservice, automation workflow, or internal application from concept to completion - Build features using Python and related frameworks (e.g., FastAPI) under guidance from senior engineers - Integrate large language models (LLMs), RAG pipelines, search APIs, or automation components as defined by the project - Document project architecture and deliverables - Complete assigned projects to impact the department or organization - Gain an understanding of degree utilization in the workplace - Cross train in other departments as desired - Observe and train with team members to understand various departmental processes Required Qualifications: - Foundational knowledge of Python, AI/ML concepts, APIs, and Git version control - Foundational knowledge of Statistics and Linear Algebra - Exhibits strong analytical, organizational, public speaking, and critical thinking skills - Conveys a productive attitude, takes initiative, works independently, and exhibits a strong work ethic - Interacts effectively with individuals and groups of all levels inside and outside the organization - Excellent verbal and non-verbal communication - PC experience in a Microsoft Windows environment; proficient with internet, email, and Microsoft Office software - Able to type data and use a PC for long periods of time - Undergraduate students in good standing at either a junior or senior level, OR Graduate students working towards a Master's degree - Major or academic focus in one or more of the following programs: Computer Science, Data Science, AI/Machine Learning, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Engineering - Experience with VSCode and Linux Operating Systems is required Preferred Qualifications: - Understanding of LLMs, embeddings, and vector search concepts is preferred - Experience working with containers and CI/CD pipelines is preferred - Experience working with project management tools such as JIRA is preferred Required Skills: Python, AI/ML concepts, APIs Important Skills: Git version control, Statistics, Linear Algebra, LLMs, VSCode, Linux Nice-to-Have Skills: Public speaking, Team interaction, Microsoft Office, Project management tools, Critical thinking, Organizational skills, Communication skills, Work ethic Benefits: Competitive pay and benefits
