The impact of the role:
We are looking for a Lead Application Platform Owner responsible for ensuring the stability, performance, and continuous improvement of critical business applications and technical platforms. This role serves as the primary owner of assigned services, overseeing their full lifecycle from implementation and upgrades to maintenance, optimization, and retirement. Acting as a key link between business stakeholders, vendors, and technical teams, the Lead Application Platform Owner drives service reliability, manages roadmaps and budgets, coordinates issue resolution, and ensures compliance with security and operational standards. With a strong focus on service excellence, innovation, and stakeholder collaboration, the role plays a critical part in enabling business operations and supporting the organization's digital transformation objectives.
On a given day, you will:
- Own and manage the lifecycle of business-critical engineering and R&D applications, ensuring reliability, performance, and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to define application roadmaps, prioritize requirements, and align technology investments with business objectives.
- Lead application upgrades, migrations, disaster recovery activities, and platform enhancements across Windows, Linux, and cloud-based environments.
- Coordinate internal teams and external vendors to deliver projects, resolve issues, and maintain service quality and operational excellence.
- Manage product backlogs, track project progress, and ensure timely delivery of new features and improvements.
- Oversee software licensing, supplier contracts, and CAPEX/OPEX budgets, ensuring cost-effective and compliant operations.
- Provide technical leadership and support for application platforms, working closely with engineers and end users to solve complex operational challenges.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 6-10 years of experience in IT service management, application ownership, or technical service leadership roles.
- Hand-on experience in Windows and Linux server platform for performing application deployment and its maintenance.
- Experience in architecting the infrastructure planning for the implementation of customized application.
- Experience in managing the license servers and its tools eg: FlexLM or LMtools to handle the license update, troubleshooting, supplier co-ordination for renewals.
- Experience in administrating and managing the ALM platform Eg: PTC products.
- Good understanding and knowledge in containerization platform eg: AWS ECS or any other platform.
- Good understanding and knowledge in full stack infra technologies.
- Experience with application integrations, system migrations, release management, and disaster recovery planning.
- Experience managing service roadmaps, budgets, and operational performance against defined SLAs and KPIs.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.
Nice to Have
- Experience with Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) tools and platforms.
- Experience supporting engineering, R&D, or manufacturing environments.
- Relevant certifications such as ITIL, PMP, Agile, AWS, or Microsoft certifications.
- Experience leading digital transformation, modernization, or cloud migration initiatives.
