OVERVIEW
Position Summary:
Moraine Park Technical College offers students the chance to gain valuable work experience while pursuing their education through the Work Study program. These positions provide Financial Aid eligible students with the opportunity to work part-time, allowing them to earn money as a part of their financial aid award package to support their educational expenses while also gaining valuable skills and experience relevant to their field of study.
The application process for these positions involves first contacting the Financial Aid office and expressing interest in specific areas or departments within the college where students wish to work. After working with the Financial Aid office to find a position and determining their eligibility for the work study program, an application is then submitted. This ensures that students are placed in roles that align with their skills, interests, and career goals.
It's important to note that some positions within the work study program may involve handling sensitive information, such as Personal Identifiable Information (P.I.I.). In such cases, as part of the college's commitment to safeguarding student and employee data, a background check will be conducted for those students who may have access to P.I.I. This ensures the security and privacy of individuals' personal information and maintains compliance with relevant regulations and policies.
Overall, participating in the work study program at Moraine Park Technical College offers students a unique opportunity to blend their academic pursuits with real-world work experience, setting them up for success both during their time at the college and in their future careers.
