Intern, Development & Additive Manufacturing - FastWorks

Summary: Moog Inc. is a performance culture that empowers people to achieve great things. They are seeking an intern to support rapid prototyping and production improvement efforts within the FastWorks and ForgeWorks teams in the Space & Defense Group. Responsibilities: - Assist engineers and technicians in conceptual design, CAD modeling, and fabrication of 3D-printed tooling, fixtures, and shadowboards - Produce detailed CAD models and engineering drawings under mentorship; iterate designs based on testing and shop-floor feedback - Support rapid prototyping activities: prepare prints, post-process parts, and help run validation tests - Work with ForgeWorks to triage shop-floor issues, develop temporary containment fixes, and contribute to validation and formalization packages - Participate in Gemba walks and on-floor collaboration with technicians and production leads to identify and scope improvement projects - Document design iterations, testing results, basic cost/benefit notes, and handoff materials for product/manufacturing engineering Required Qualifications: - Enrolled in a Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Design, Electrical Engineering Bachelor's or Master's Degree program, at an accredited university - GPA of at least 3.0; exact GPA requirement will be specified by department - This position requires access to U.S. export-controlled information - Ability to relocate for the duration of the internship Preferred Qualifications: - NX experience preferred; SolidWorks and/or CAD experience is a plus - Experience operating FDM 3D printers and working with common materials such as PLA and ABS preferred Required Skills: NX, SolidWorks, CAD modeling, FDM 3D printing, PLA material, ABS material, work in a team environment Benefits: Flexible paid time off, Holidays, Relocation assistance, Inclusive culture rooted in our values, Enhanced by Employee Resource Groups, Team-building activities, Annual bonuses, Employee stock purchase plan, Open paid time off policy, Many region-specific benefits
