Job Summary
The Senior Director, Performance Informatics is responsible for leading the Data & Analytics team in the Network Performance Group as well as leading interdepartmental efforts at the medical center and health
system to enhance theabilitytoacquireandanalyzedataforquality/performanceimprovementeffortsandprovideexpertisefortheprioritizationof quality topics where resources should be devoted. This includes, but is not limited to, contributing to strategic planning to improveMontefiore’sabilitytorespondtoexternalpay-for-performance programs as well asimprove Montefiore’s performance in public hospital rankings (e.g., CMS Hospital Quality Star Rating) ,settingperformancegoalsfor performance improvement, facilitating quality/performance improvement activities by serving as an expert in health policy and quality measurement,advisingandassistingwiththeacquisitionofdataneededtosupportquality/performanceimprovementactivities,providingquantitative/analyticexpertisetogaugesuccesswithmeetingquality/performanceimprovementgoals, and serving as a lead executive, in partnership with MIT, in establishing a standardized data governance and reporting infrastructure via the new enterprise reporting standard, Power BI.
Qualifications:
PhD in Health Policy, Informatics, or other related health care field Required
10+ years of experience in Data and Analytics Required
Leadership experience at a large academic medical center Required
Possess advanced training and experience in econometrics/statistics, data management, data reporting, and study design
ExpertknowledgeoffederalandNYstatehealthpolicypertainingtoqualityandpatientsafety,qualitymeasurement(QI)programs,and associatedpenalties/consequencesandbeabletooperationalizethisknowledgeintotangibleQIstrategiesandworkproducts
Strong experience with quality measures and quality improvement methodologies
Ability to work with structured query language (SQL), PL/SQL desirable, and Oracle Developer or other related software Experiencewithatleastonestatisticalsoftwarepackage(e.g.,SAS,Stata,R,etc.),butexperienceinmorethanonepreferred
Experience with visualization software packages (e.g., Tableau, Web Intelligence, etc.)
Knowledgeableaboutdatawarehousing,datamodels,andmetadata
Experiencepartneringeffectivelyacrossvariouslevelsofanorganization(e.g.,C-suiteandotherleaders,databaseengineers,business analysts, clinicians,etc.)
Abilitytocommunicateeffectivelyinwritingandverballyaswellaspossessstronginterpersonalskills Strongprojectmanagementskillsrequired
Strongly preferred ability to contribute to the education of medical students at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine (i.e. hold faculty appointment of Assistant Professor or greater)
