Summary: Montana Knife Company is seeking a Knife Tech I to join their manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing and assembling knives, manufacturing kydex sheaths, and ensuring quality control throughout the production process.
Responsibilities:
- Inspect incoming materials and components (blades, handles, hardware, kydex stock) upon receipt to verify they meet specifications and quality standards; flag any defects or discrepancies before they enter production
- Prepare and assemble knife components according to specifications with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring proper fit and finish of blades, handles, and hardware
- Inspect completed knives and components for defects, ensuring they meet our high quality standards before moving to the next production stage
- Cut, heat-form, and finish kydex sheaths to match knife specifications, including hardware installation and finishing touches
- Carefully package finished knives and sheaths for shipment with precision and care, including organizing materials, applying labels, and preparing orders for dispatch
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area throughout your shift; properly store tools and materials and dispose of waste in designated areas
- Take pride in your work and take responsibility for meeting daily production goals and quality standards; identify issues early and communicate with supervisors proactively
- Set up workstations, organize materials and tools, and prepare components for production runs with attention to detail
- Move materials and finished products between workstations using carts, dollies, and hand trucks; maintain inventory accuracy
- Record production metrics, quality checks, and inventory information accurately and thoroughly
- Seek to improve your skills and knowledge of processes; follow standard operating procedures, implement feedback from supervisors, and contribute to process improvements
Required Qualifications:

- Stand, walk, push, pull, squat, bend, and reach during shifts
- Use carts, dollies, hand trucks, and other gear to move items around
- Go up and down stairs (where applicable)
- Adhere to strict safety, quality, and production standards
