The role

You will own the infrastructure that keeps Mono's products running reliably, securely, and at scale. This includes our AWS cloud environment, Kubernetes clusters, deployment pipelines, monitoring systems, backups, and disaster recovery processes. You will make sure our engineering teams can deploy changes safely, identify and resolve issues quickly, and maintain reliable services as Mono grows.

You will also play a key role in Mono's security and compliance efforts. You will implement and maintain the technical controls required for standards such as ISO 27001, ISO 22301, ISO 20000-1, and PCI DSS. This means building the right infrastructure, managing access, preparing audit evidence, testing recovery processes, and ensuring our systems meet the security and operational requirements of a fintech company.

Responsibilities

Infrastructure

• Manage AWS infrastructure across multiple accounts and regions using Terraform.
• Maintain EKS clusters, including upgrades, scaling, service mesh, ingress, and ArgoCD.
• Plan and execute infrastructure migrations with clear rollback plans.

CI/CD

• Own shared GitHub Actions workflows and Helm charts used across services.
• Secure the software delivery process through hardened images, dependency and secret scanning, and secure credentials.
• Roll out changes safely across 200+ repositories.

Observability and incidents

• Manage Grafana, Prometheus/Mimir, Loki, Alloy, and Sentry.
• Define alerting standards and service-level objectives (SLOs).
• Lead incident response and document lessons learned through postmortems.

Security and access

• Manage IAM, MFA, least-privilege access, and production secrets.
• Oversee employee access reviews, VPNs, network security, and secure connections to banks.
• Manage infrastructure and container vulnerability scanning and remediation.

Backup and disaster recovery

• Manage backups using AWS Backup, Velero, and database snapshots.
• Define recovery time and recovery point objectives (RTOs/RPOs).
• Run restoration tests and disaster recovery exercises.

Compliance

• Support technical controls and audit evidence for ISO 27001, ISO 22301, and ISO 20000-1.
• Manage PCI DSS requirements for the cardholder data environment, network segmentation, security scans, penetration testing, and audit evidence.
• Support infrastructure-related CBN and NDPA requirements.

Other

• Monitor and optimise cloud costs, including resource tagging.
• Maintain infrastructure documentation, architecture diagrams, and runbooks.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in DevOps, platform engineering, or SRE roles.
• Strong hands-on experience with AWS, Terraform, and Kubernetes in production.
• Experience owning CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions or similar tools.
• Experience with monitoring tools such as Grafana and Prometheus.
• Practical experience with infrastructure security, incident response, and audit evidence for ISO 27001, PCI DSS, SOC 2, or similar frameworks.
• Good understanding of cloud security, access management, networking, backup, and disaster recovery.

Nice to have

• PCI DSS experience in payments, fintech, or financial services.
• Experience with ISO 22301 or ISO 20000-1.
• Familiarity with Istio, ArgoCD, OpenVPN, or IPsec.
• Relevant AWS, CKA/CKS, or ISO 27001 Lead Implementer certifications.
