Summary This is a 12 month long APP Oncology Fellowship Program.Practices medicine within the scope of authority granted by Moffitt Cancer Center. Provides patient care under the auspices of the Moffitt Medical Group, and serves as member of the academic medical enterprise; advancing the institutional mission of contributing to the prevention and cure of cancer. As a medical provider that is not a physician, but is licensed to diagnose and treat patients with a physician(s), the Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant (APRN / PA-C) assists physicians in the evaluation, management and treatment of patients. The APRN / PA-C is involved in a wide spectrum of patients with different medical problems, procedures and co-morbidities.The Advanced Practice Registered Nurse and Physician Assistant Oncology Fellow program is an innovative initiative, offering fully licensed and certified APRNs / PA-Cs the educational opportunity to further train and specialize in the evaluation, management, and treatment of oncology patients. The 12 months of the program will be learning-based within the APP Fellow's respective medical discipline. The APRN / PA-C Oncology Fellow will work collaboratively with the medical/ surgical team for the treatment of patients in the inpatient, outpatient and surgical/ procedural settings within the scope of practice permitted under Florida law.
