Job Description
Summary: Moffatt & Nichol is a leading U.S.-based global infrastructure advisor specializing in the planning and design of facilities that shape and serve our coastlines, harbors, and rivers. They are actively seeking a Civil/Structural Engineer with commercial diving certification to lead a team in evaluating marine structures and ports through engineering inspections.
Responsibilities:
- Performs site investigations of marine structures, bridges, and other infrastructure assets
- Ensures that the scope of work is fulfilled as directed and that the contracted deliverable is submitted out on schedule and as budgeted
- Data entry/manipulation and technical writing skills for the preparation and review of inspection reports, proposals, etc
- Analyzes deteriorated components of marine and bridge structures to assess load capacity
- Prepares plans, specifications, cost estimates and supporting documentation
- Provides quality assurance reviews of inspection reports
- Works collaboratively with all members of the inspection team and of other engineering disciplines
- Assists with civil and structural design
- Performs other duties as required
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from an accredited university
- Engineer in Training (EIT) required
- Certified Commercial Diver is required; ADCI, HSE, DCBC, IMCA, ADAS or completion of a US military equivalent diving school required
- Entry level to 4+ years of related diving and inspection experience required
- Valid driver's license in good standing and personal transportation required
- Availability and willingness to travel as required
- Possession of or eligibility to obtain a Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC)
- Selected candidate must consent to and pass a post-offer/pre-employment drug screening
- All new hires will be required to successfully complete and pass a pre-employment (post offer) background check in compliance with NIST 800-171

Preferred Qualifications:
- Structural coursework or focus is preferred
- Boater Safety Card preferred
- Possess DBIDS card or eligibility to successfully pass background check to secure Department of Defense DBIDS card and other badges required by clients preferred
- Current First Aid, CPR, AED, and Oxygen Administration certification preferred
