Job Summary:
The JD Edwards EDI & Automotive Specialist is responsible for the design, implementation, and ongoing support of
Electronic Data Interchange processes within the JD Edwards EnterpriseOne platform, with a focus on automotive
industry requirements including customer and supplier EDI transactions, release management, and compliance with
automotive supply chain standards.
Key Responsibilities
Implement, configure, and support JD Edwards EDI modules including Interoperability, Sales Order Management,
and Procurement integration points
Manage inbound and outbound EDI transaction sets common to the automotive industry (e.g., 830, 850, 856,
860, 862, 997)
Support automotive-specific business processes including release-based ordering, sequencing, kanban, and
supplier scheduling
Collaborate with trading partners, EDI translators (e.g., Gentran, Sterling, TrueCommerce, SPS Commerce), and
third-party logistics providers to establish and maintain EDI maps and communication protocols
Troubleshoot EDI transaction failures, data mapping issues, and interoperability errors across the end-to-end
supply chain
Work closely with Business Systems Analysts, developers, and functional teams to translate automotive customer
requirements into JDE system solutions
Support JDE modules relevant to automotive operations including Shop Floor Control, Requirements Planning
(MRP/DRP), Procurement, and Sales Order Management
Ensure compliance with automotive customer portals and EDI mandates (e.g., GM, Ford, Stellantis, Toyota)
Maintain EDI trading partner profiles, communication configurations, and transaction documentation
Participate in testing cycles for new trading partner onboarding, system upgrades, and process changes
Document EDI workflows, integration designs, and operational runbooks
Required Skills & Qualifications
Bachelors degree in information systems, Supply Chain, Business or related field preferred
4 to 6 years of EDI experience, with at least 2 to 3 years in a JD Edwards EnterpriseOne environment
Strong knowledge of ANSI X12 EDI transaction sets used in automotive supply chain
Hands-on experience with one or more EDI translation platforms (Gentran, Sterling Integrator, TrueCommerce, or
similar)
Familiarity with automotive supply chain processes including blanket orders, shipping schedules, sequencing, and
kanban replenishment
Experience with JDE Interoperability, flat file processing, and EDI subsystem configuration
Knowledge of JDE modules including Sales Order Management, Procurement, and Manufacturing is strongly preferred
Understanding of automotive customer compliance requirements and supplier portals
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with attention to detail
Excellent communication skills with the ability to work directly with trading partners and internal stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with JD Edwards EnterpriseOne EDI integrations and automotive supply chain processes.
Knowledge of automotive EDI standards such as ANSI X12, EDIFACT, and release management concepts.
Experience supporting customer and supplier EDI transactions, mapping, and troubleshooting.
Strong analytical, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
