Summary: Mitsubishi Electric Trane HVAC US LLC is looking for a Mechanical Engineer I in Southborough, MA. This role is responsible for providing design and application support on HVAC systems, along with training and technical documentation, while developing expertise in the field. Responsibilities: - Provide technical and application support through the development and implementation of software tools, programs, and information to create strategic advantage, solve market needs, and leverage core capability to increase the knowledge and specification of Mitsubishi Electric Trane HVAC US (METUS) solutions - Develop engineering application white papers to address specific business unit concerns. Works towards becoming a subject matter expert on core METUS products through continuous development and learning - Ability to apply acquired fundamental engineering concepts to application support function and involvement in projects of increasing complexity. Fundamental engineering concepts include, but are not limited to, duct and pipe sizing, load calculations, psychometrics, and fan and pump curve concepts - Seeks opportunities to become involved in project installation sites, working alongside METUS service and sales staff to build knowledge and skills on the proper application and installation of METUS products - Support the METUS sales and service team in conducting internal and external training events, including the knowledge transfer of existing products / applications and introduction of new concepts, products, or methodologies - Maintain a consistent presence at the training center by offering in-person office hours at least twice per month (adjust availability as necessary) to support your personal development and to provide sales, training, and technical support to our business unit - Support the creation and review of technical documentation, literature, and collateral. Technical documentation includes, but is not limited to, application notes, I&O manuals, schematic drawings, submittals, engineering data, and white papers - Assist senior mechanical engineering staff on complex initiatives including, but not limited to, application note updates, development of knowledge and workload in data regression, and the use and application of software tools such as Trane Trace 3D Plus - Assist with customer support and applications questions for METUS and non-METUS products. Products to be supported include ductless and VRF systems and third-party products, such as LEV kits, DOAS systems, replacement parts, and other future offerings - Provide Tier 2 support for METUS sales team members on design software, including Diamond System Builder (DSB) and PremiSys CAPS - Willing to travel up to 20% to for various Company meetings and training both domestically and possibly internationally - Other Duties as assigned Required Qualifications: - 1-3 years mechanical HVAC experience, including design and energy analysis - B.S degree in mechanical engineering or similar technical degree from ABET accredited engineering program required - Experience with Trane Trace 3D Plus, Carrier HAP, EnergyPro, and EQuest - Experience with AutoCAD (required) - Excellent computer skills with Microsoft Office, specifically with creating complex Excel analysis - Strong communication, presentation, training, and technical writing skills - Analytical approach to problem solving - Self motivated, and like to work hands-on - Team player demonstrating METUS core values including a desire to win together, deliver excellence, drive sustainability, focus on execution and learn continuously Preferred Qualifications: - E.I.T (Engineer in Training) with desired growth toward obtaining a P.E.
