Job Description
Summary: MITER Brands is a company that focuses on manufacturing and production optimization. The Manufacturing Engineering Intern will support continuous improvement initiatives and gain hands-on experience in process analysis and Lean manufacturing tools.
Responsibilities:
- Learn and apply basic Continuous Improvement (CI) techniques to identify process inefficiencies
- Develop and analyze spaghetti diagrams to evaluate material and operator movement
- Conduct visual observations of production processes to identify waste (muda) and improvement opportunities
- Support and participate in SMED (Single-Minute Exchange of Die) methodology activities to reduce setup and changeover times
- Assist in the development and execution of questionnaires and operator interviews to gather process insights from the shop floor
Required Qualifications:
- Support continuous improvement and production optimization initiatives within a manufacturing environment
- Hands-on experience in process analysis, Lean manufacturing tools, time studies, and production system improvement
- Work closely with the engineering and operations teams to identify inefficiencies
- Analyze workflows
- Support standardization efforts
- Contribute to data-driven decision-making for productivity and quality improvements
