Summary: Mission Technologies, a division of HII, provides advanced technologies and solutions in service of national defense. The SkillBridge intern will train as a Mechanical Master Tradesperson, developing skills in equipment operation, maintenance, and project management under the guidance of a mentor. Responsibilities: - Train as a Mechanical Master Tradesperson within HII-Mission Technologies, reporting to a designated HII Supervisor - Be assigned special projects as needed - Develop skills needed to be presented with a problem, design solutions, fabricate the solutions, test the product, and make alterations based on feedback - Develop a good understanding of the tradesperson equipments including operation, configuration, and maintenance of equipment - Repair capabilities with Auxiliary Equipment to include Solid Waste, Processing Equipment, High and Low Pressure Air Compressors, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration, JP-5 Service Pumps and Purifiers, Steam Water Heaters, Condenser Cleaning, Valve repair, maintenance and hydro-testing, Manufacturing Gaskets - Read and use Manufactures Technical Manuals, Drawings and PMS Cards - Maintain Quality Control IAW the Joint Fleet Maintenance Manual - Maintain and establish safe work practices including all required Tag Outs - Learn to schedule, report, and brief customers and senior management of work progress Required Qualifications: - Must be Active-Duty Military ONLY within final 180 days of active-duty service - Applications accepted within final 12 months of active-duty military service - Must possess a Confidential or higher security clearance Required Skills: Mechanical Master Tradesperson Skills, Operation and Maintenance of Auxiliary Equipment, Solid Waste Processing Equipment, High and Low Pressure Air Compressors, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration, JP-5 Service Pumps and Purifiers, Steam Water Heaters, Condenser Cleaning, Valve Repair and Hydro-testing, Manufacturing Gaskets, Reading and Using Technical Manuals, Reading and Using Drawings, Reading and Using PMS Cards, Quality Control per Joint Fleet Maintenance Manual, Safe Work Practices and Tag Outs, Procedure Development, Drawings and Schematics, Part Selection, Test Procedure Creation, Testing and Quality Checks, Security Clearance - Confidential, Customer Feedback Communication, Reporting and Briefing Benefits: HII is more than a job - it’s an opportunity to build a new future.
