Job Description
Summary: Mintel is seeking a talented entry-level Software Developer to join their established IT team in Chicago. The role involves redeveloping marketing intelligence websites and contributing to data entry and quality assurance systems used by major CPG companies and financial institutions.
Responsibilities:
- Join a diverse, high-functioning Scrum team
- Participate in planning activities with the Product Owner and other stakeholders
- Develop features for our client-facing website and data entry software
- Demo software to stakeholders and record their feedback
- Participate in testing and other quality assurance activities
- Manage the deployment of new features to beta and live environments
- Contribute to continuous improvement activities
- Gain exposure to our full software stack, using primarily Open-Source software
- Influence the direction of your team through continuous improvement activities
- Collaborate with your team in an agile open workspace, or retreat to one of our quiet areas when you need to focus on individual tasks
- Take part in intensive pairing activities to get you up to speed quickly with our technology stack
Required Qualifications:
- STEM degree or equivalent experience (1+ year)
- Proven ability to solve problems with code
- Experience in web technology
- Ability to participate in planning activities with the Product Owner and other stakeholders
- Experience in developing features for client-facing websites and data entry software
- Ability to demo software to stakeholders and record their feedback
- Participation in testing and other quality assurance activities
- Ability to manage the deployment of new features to beta and live environments
- Contribution to continuous improvement activities
- Exposure to full software stack, using primarily Open-Source software
- Ability to influence the direction of the team through continuous improvement activities
- Collaboration in an agile open workspace
- Participation in intensive pairing activities to learn the technology stack quickly
