Actuarial Analyst - IntelliScript (Remote) at Milliman in Remote

Summary: Milliman is a respected consultancy that develops data-driven software products for insurance and health IT clients. The Actuarial Analyst will process, analyze, and create deliverables while collaborating with various internal teams and utilizing data processing programs to analyze large datasets. Responsibilities: - Creative problem-solving using spreadsheets, databases, and other resources to organize and analyze information - Automation and efficiency improvement of tools through PowerBI, Databricks, programming languages, or other approaches - Effectively communicate results through internal presentations in a clear and concise manner - Anticipate and address questions that will arise during internal review and client delivery - Use discretion and independent judgment to determine how to complete assigned projects, subject to peer review - Work with external and internal clients to create high quality deliverables that effectively meet their goals and showcase the value of our products - Balance numerous projects/tasks with varying deadlines and difficulty without sacrificing quality of work Required Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in actuarial science, mathematics, or other major with quantitative course work - 2 or more successfully completed actuarial exams (preferably SOA exams) - 0 - 3 years of work experience in the actuarial profession - Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the use of complex formulas and pivot tables - Working knowledge of database querying languages (preferably SQL) - Familiarity with Python and/or Databricks Preferred Qualifications: - Experience creating process automation and actuarial reporting - Experience in software-as-a-service and/or insurance underwriting industry - Experience with Jira or other project management software - Experience with quality control and a peer review system - Expert in Microsoft Excel and a database querying language - Skilled in Python and/or Databricks Required Skills: Actuarial science, Microsoft Excel Important Skills: SQL, Python, Databricks, Actuarial exams Nice-to-Have Skills: Analytical thinking, Creative problem-solving, Communication skills, Collaboration Benefits: Medical, Dental and Vision – Coverage for employees, dependents, and domestic partners, Employee Assistance Program (EAP) – Confidential support for personal and work-related challenges, 401(k) Plan – Includes a company matching program and profit-sharing contributions, Discretionary Bonus Program – Recognizing employee contributions, Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) – Pre-tax savings for dependent care, transportation, and eligible medical expenses, Paid Time Off (PTO) – Begins accruing on the first day of work.
