Job Description
Summary: Microchip Technology Inc. is a global organization that designs technology powering the world. They are seeking a RODI Technician Intern to assist in the operation and maintenance of Reverse Osmosis Deionization systems and wastewater treatment equipment, with the potential for a full-time position upon completion of the relevant degree program.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the operation and maintenance of Reverse Osmosis Deionization (RODI) systems and wastewater treatment (WWT) equipment
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as filter replacements, probe cleaning, resin regeneration activities, and equipment cleaning
- Assist in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues related to water treatment systems
- Collaborate with the team to develop and implement improvement initiatives for water treatment processes
- Conduct routine water quality testing and analysis to ensure compliance with factory and regulatory standards
- Maintain accurate records of water quality data, maintenance activities, and equipment performance
- Support a “self-perform” culture with reduced reliance on external contractors
- Adhere to safety protocols and ensure a safe working environment
Required Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a degree in High Purity Water, Water and Environmental Technology or a related field
- Strong interest in water treatment and wastewater management
- Basic understanding of water treatment processes and equipment
- Excellent organizational, time management and stress management skills
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Team player. Professional, respectful, and accountable to colleagues, internal customers, and external customers. Ability to take initiative and ownership
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
- Proficiency in using computer software for data analysis and reporting
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ability to work full time 12 hour Compressed Work Week (CWW) shifts during summer
