Job Description
Summary: Microchip Technology Inc. is a global organization that designs technology powering the world. The Intern - Engineer (Design) will focus on neural network modeling for analog compute-in-memory solutions and assist with hardware architecture development while collaborating with various engineering departments.
Responsibilities:
- The Intern - Engineer (Design) will be responsible for neural network modeling for analog compute-in-memory (ACIM) solutions, including modeling the variation and mismatch of various ACIM components
- Additional responsibilities include modeling the power, performance, and area (PPA) of ACIM solutions and providing assistance with hardware architecture development for ACIM
- The role also involves interfacing and coordinating with engineers across design, technology, process, and testing departments to support the advancement of ACIM technology
Required Qualifications:
- Master's or PhD candidate, degree in progress in Electrical Engineering and/or Computer Science (EECS)
- Experience/knowledge in neural networks (MLP, GRU, CNN, sLLM, etc)
- Experience/knowledge in neural network modelling for compute-in-memory
- Experience in CAD tools ( HSPICE/HSIM, Verilog, Cadence Design Entry, etc) for design flow
- Strong communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience/knowledge in various non-volatile memory technologies
- Experience/knowledge in VLSI design flow
- Experience/knowledge of computer architecture
- Experience in validation, debug, and testing
- Semiconductor device physics knowledge
- Knowledge of languages (Python, Tcl, C++/SystemC, etc.)
