Job Description
Summary: Microchip Technology Inc. is a global organization that designs technology powering the world, fostering a culture of growth and stability. They are seeking an Intern to support the Microchip Academic Program team by assisting in the development, validation, and delivery of educational content for students and educators, blending embedded systems, robotics, and front-end development skills.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the development, validation, and delivery of educational content for students and educators
- Enhance academic learning materials and support student-facing platforms
- Provide technical assistance for embedded application projects
Required Qualifications:
- Coursework or projects related to embedded systems, robotics, computer engineering, or electrical engineering
- Exposure to microcontrollers, development boards, or embedded toolchains
- Front-End Development & UI Skills
- Demonstrated experience recreating real-world user interfaces using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
- Strong understanding of responsive design, visual hierarchy, and user experience principles
- Ability to translate complex technical workflows into intuitive, student-friendly interfaces. (Example experience: Google Flights UI recreation project)
- Robotics & Embedded Systems Background
- Hands-on experience designing, building, and refining robotic systems
- Experience with motor control, sensor integration, and autonomous navigation logic
- Familiarity with embedded programming concepts and debugging in time-constrained environments. (Example experience: VEX Robotics State Championship – Microchip Team)
- Technical & Collaborative Skills
- Strong problem-solving ability with both hardware and software systems
- Ability to collaborate effectively in team-based engineering and academic environments
- Clear written and verbal communication skills for explaining technical concepts to students
- Test and validate instructional content to ensure correctness, usability, and alignment with Microchip technologies
- Document technical concepts in a clear, student-friendly manner
