They are seeking an HVAC Facilities Technician Intern to assist in the operation and maintenance of industrial HVAC systems and equipment, while also gaining valuable technical experience and a pathway to full-time employment. Responsibilities: - Assist in the operation and maintenance of HVAC systems and equipment - Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance tasks to ensure that equipment operates efficiently and reliably - Assist in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues related to HVAC systems - Collaborate with the team to develop and implement improvement initiatives for HVAC processes - Provide support to the facilities team in other areas as needed, including environmental monitoring and cleanroom support - Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment performance - Support a 'self-perform' culture with reduced reliance on external contractors - Adhere to safety protocols and ensure a safe working environment Required Qualifications: - Currently pursuing a 2-year AAS degree in Facilities Maintenance (HVAC) - Strong interest in HVAC system operations and maintenance - HVAC principles, systems, and operations - Excellent organizational, time management and stress management skills - Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills - Team player. Professional, respectful, and accountable to colleagues, internal customers, and external customers. Ability to take initiative and ownership - Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions - Effective communication skills, both written and verbal - Proficiency in using computer software for data analysis and reporting - Able to lift, push, pull approx. 50 lbs; carry 50 lbs; sit 5%; stand 60%; walk 35%; must be able to perform activities that include climbing, bending at waist, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, crawling, handling, feeling, hearing, talking, seeing - Work environment could include slippery surfaces, noise or vibrations, mechanical hazards, electrical hazards, fumes or odors, dust or gases - Ability to travel infrequently for training purposes Preferred Qualifications: - Ability to work full time 12-hour Compressed Work Week (CWW) shifts during summer Required Skills: HVAC system operations, HVAC maintenance, HVAC principles, Data analysis software, Reporting software, Stress management, Analytical skills Benefits: Microchip will cover the cost of tuition, required books and most fees for interns currently enrolled in the Facilities Maintenance Technology HVAC AAS program at Portland Community College Swan Island Trades Center.
