Medical Receptionist - Dermatology… at MI Skin Center · Northville

Medical Receptionist Full-Time | Northville, MI Starting at $14–21+ per hour, based on experience Create an Exceptional Patient Experience. About MI Skin Center At MI Skin Center, exceptional healthcare begins long before a patient sees their provider. Every interaction—from the first phone call to check-in and checkout—should leave patients feeling welcomed, respected, and genuinely cared for. We are building a front desk team that delivers an elevated, hospitality-focused experience. Our goal is for every patient to feel recognized, supported, and confident that they are in good hands. We're looking for a warm, personable, dependable professional who enjoys helping people, takes pride in getting the details right, and wants to become a valued, long-term member of our team. About the Role As a Medical Receptionist, you are the face of our practice. You'll help create an exceptional patient experience while keeping front-office operations organized, accurate, and efficient. This is a great opportunity for someone with experience in medical reception, health insurance, hospitality, customer service, or another fast-paced, customer-facing role who is ready to bring those skills into healthcare. We're willing to train the right person on our medical systems and workflows. However, we need someone who already demonstrates strong customer-service skills, attention to detail, dependability, and the ability to learn quickly. What You'll Do: Welcome patients with warmth, professionalism, and genuine enthusiasm. Create a polished, attentive check-in and checkout experience. Schedule appointments and help maintain an efficient provider schedule. Verify insurance eligibility and benefits accurately. Help patients understand insurance requirements, financial responsibilities, and next steps within the scope of your role. Answer incoming calls and respond to patient questions with empathy and professionalism. Maintain accurate patient records and documentation. Collaborate with providers, medical assistants, and billing staff to support smooth clinic operations. Manage competing priorities while maintaining accuracy and a welcoming demeanor. Identify opportunities to improve the patient experience and front-office workflows. What We're Looking For: Required qualifications: At least one year of experience in a customer-facing role involving regular interaction with customers, clients, guests, or patients. Demonstrated dependability and professional communication. Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow established procedures. Comfortable using computers and learning new software systems. Ability to remain organized, courteous, and composed during busy periods. Availability to work the agreed-upon full-time schedule, including required clinic days. A genuine interest in building skills and contributing to a team over the long term. Medical insurance experience is strongly preferred, particularly eligibility and benefits verification. Candidates with this experience may be able to take on responsibilities more quickly. Medical-office experience and familiarity with electronic medical records, specifically with Dermatology, are advantageous but not required. This Role May Be a Great Fit If You: Enjoy making people feel welcome and remembered. Are naturally outgoing, approachable, and positive. Take ownership of your responsibilities rather than waiting to be reminded. Can move efficiently without sacrificing accuracy or courtesy. Welcome feedback and use it to improve your performance. Enjoy learning new systems and becoming increasingly independent. Are looking for a stable position where you can build expertise and grow with a team. Please Consider the Commitment. We invest time in training new team members, building their skills, and helping them become confident in their roles. We are looking for someone who is prepared to make this position a meaningful, sustained commitment—not simply a short-term stopgap. Our ideal candidate is looking for at least one year in the role, with the intention of staying longer if the position and team are a good fit. Compensation & Benefits: Starting pay: $14–21+ per hour, depending on relevant experience and qualifications. Full-time schedule across four to five days per week. Health insurance, paid holidays, and paid time off for eligible employees. Training and professional development. Opportunities to take on additional responsibilities and advance as the practice grows. A collaborative environment where patient experience, teamwork, and continuous improvement matter.
