Job Description
Summary: The Metropolitan Water District of Southern California is a state-established cooperative that provides water for 19 million people in six counties. This student intern position offers practical experience in technical support, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and assisting with media support and conference meetings.
Responsibilities:
- Gain expert-level experience in troubleshooting skills with technical support for hardware, software, and network-related issues through phone or ticketing system
- Escalate complex issues to appropriate IT teams while ensuring proper follow-up
- Support loaner pool in iHub
- May assist with audio visual/media platforms, media support, and help facilitate conference meetings
Required Qualifications:
- Current enrollment in an accredited four-year college or university carrying a minimum of 12 semester units or 8 quarter units with junior or senior standing in a related major and maintain a cumulative grade point average of 2.75 or higher on a 4.0 scale
- Current enrollment in an accredited graduate degree program in a related major with a grade point average of 2.75 or higher
- Valid California Class C Driver's License or equivalent (required at time of application) that allows you to drive during your employment
- Related major is defined as: Computer Science or Computer Engineering
- Your resume must at a minimum include the month and year you began and ended employment, name of the organization, your title, and a brief description of your experience
- Applicants for employment with The Metropolitan Water District of Southern California must have work authorization that does not now or in the future require sponsorship of a visa for employment authorization in the United States
