Job Description
Summary: Metropolitan Transportation Authority is seeking an Environmental, Health, & Safety Data, Emerging Talent Intern for their Safety, Security, & Environment department. The intern will gain hands-on exposure to regulatory compliance, field assessments, data analysis, and will be responsible for refining data trackers and generating automated reports using Power BI.
Responsibilities:
- Refine and standardize existing SharePoint and Excel data trackers
- Develop new data trackers as needed to support environmental and industrial hygiene programs
- Transfer and organize existing data into Power BI to support dashboard development
- Build and configure Power BI dashboards to generate automated safety and compliance reports
- Review current data workflows and recommend improvements to streamline reporting processes
- Assist with compiling safety and environmental metrics requested by the President’s Office
- Support the Environmental Protection and Industrial Hygiene teams with data organization and documentation
- Help ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency of departmental data across all tracking systems
Required Qualifications:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is a must
- The candidate should possess organizational, analytical and communication skills
- The candidate should be able to work well under pressure and prioritize tasks effectively
- The candidate should have a keen eye for detail and be able to work independently while being an active team player
- Matriculated in an undergraduate program in good standing with at least 2.5 GPA AND/OR matriculated in a graduate program in good standing with at least 2.8 GPA
- Major(s) Preferred: Environmental, Health, and Safety; Public Health; Data Analysis; Business Management; Information Technology; Computer Science, or related field
- All applicants must be authorized to work in the United States at the time of application
