Job Description
Summary: MetLife is one of the world’s leading financial services companies, providing insurance and asset management solutions. They are seeking interns for their Actuarial Internship Program, where interns will gain hands-on experience in various actuarial functions and contribute to meaningful projects.
Responsibilities:
- Work directly with experienced actuaries in different areas of actuarial practice which may include pricing and product development, reserve calculations, actuarial modeling, financial analysis, asset liability management, or investments
- Contribute to a wide variety of exciting and interesting projects
- Present to leaders in the organization about their contributions
- Engage in a variety of networking events throughout the summer
Required Qualifications:
- Enrolled in a bachelor's or master's degree program with an accredited college or university
- Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills
- Strong computer/technical skills - Knowledge of Excel is required
- Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Preferred major includes actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, computer science, economics, or other analytical/business-related major
- Successful completion of one or more Society of Actuaries exams is preferred
- Knowledge of other programming languages such as Python, SQL, or R is preferred
