Responsibilities
The Physical Therapy Assistant provides specific physical therapy services aimed at assisting the in-patient in regaining an optimal level of ability in gross motor skills, muscular strength and function, mobility, the reduction of pain, and improvement in the loss of skin/tissue integrity. The physical therapy assistant provides individualized care based upon needs of the patient and family in keeping with the documented physical therapy plan of care.
Qualifications
- AA degree from an accredited program for Physical Therapy Assistants (approved by the APTA)
- Must have completed all clinical affiliation requirements for AA graduation. Must have 2+ years of experience in acute care services to work on the weekend temp pool staff. Will consider new grads for weekday work.
- Familiarity with wound care/hydrotherapy is required
- Meet all requirements of The Maryland State Board of PT Examiners, and licensed by this regulatory agency with a PTA license.
- Level C CPR certification for health care providers.
