Primary Function/General Purpose of Position): The Manager, Provider Operations, is responsible for leading operational teams within Global Business Services (GBS) supporting provider services functions for Bon Secours Mercy Health. This role oversees Credential Verification Organization (CVO) support operations, provider recruitment support, provider onboarding activities, and provider compensation support services to ensure efficient, compliant, and high-quality provider lifecycle operations.
The Manager partners closely with CVO leadership, provider recruitment, onboarding, compensation, medical staff services, Human Resources, and operational stakeholders to drive service excellence, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement across provider operations functions. This role is accountable for team performance, operational metrics, service delivery, process standardization, and stakeholder collaboration within a centralized support model.
Essential Job Functions :
- Lead day-to-day provider operations by overseeing credentialing, recruitment support, onboarding coordination, and compensation activities while managing workflows, supervising and developing staff, and optimizing staffing, resource allocation, productivity, and service standards to ensure efficient, accurate, compliant, and uninterrupted provider lifecycle operations aligned with organizational priorities.
- Oversee credentialing and CVO support operations by ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant credentialing, recredentialing, primary source verification, and credential file management while partnering on process improvements, quality assurance, and performance monitoring.
- Oversee provider recruitment and onboarding support by coordinating recruitment workflows, documentation, onboarding readiness, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure a seamless provider experience, timely practice readiness, and operational efficiency.
- Oversee provider compensation support operations by ensuring accurate, timely, and confidential data coordination, tracking, reporting, documentation, and administrative processes while partnering with compensation and physician finance teams to improve operational efficiency and workflow standards.
- Establish and monitor operational performance through KPIs, SLAs, quality metrics, and reporting while analyzing trends, identifying improvement opportunities, and driving accountability for service excellence and operational outcomes.
- Lead process improvement and cross-functional collaboration initiatives by driving operational standardization, efficiency, automation, system implementations, and change management while partnering with key stakeholders to enhance service delivery and promote best practices.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, credentialing standards, organizational policies, and regulatory requirements by overseeing quality assurance, audits, documentation, operational procedures, training, risk mitigation, and governance activities.

Education
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, healthcare administration, management or any related fields (required)
Work Experience
- 7+ years of experience in provider operations, credentialing, provider compensation, provider services, healthcare operations, or related healthcare administrative functions (required)
- 7+ years of leadership or management experience overseeing operational teams (required)
- Experience in a healthcare environment supporting physician services (preferred)
- Experience supporting provider credentialing, onboarding, recruitment coordination, or provider compensation operations (preferred)
- Strong knowledge of provider lifecycle processes, credentialing standards, and healthcare operational workflows (preferred)
