Intern - Governmental Audit - Summer at Melanson in Merrimack, NH

Summary: Melanson is a firm specializing in governmental audit services, and they are seeking an Intern for the summer to assist in performing audits and other client services. The role involves supporting audit procedures, documentation, and potentially preparing financial statements for clients. Responsibilities: - Under direct supervision assist in performing audits and other client services in the office and at clients’ offices - Under direct supervision assist in performing audit procedures, and creating documentation necessary to support audit work papers, and may assist in the preparation of audited financial statements for municipal and not-for-profit clients - Perform other job functions and projects as requested to support the firm.Must be able to travel to client locations (usually within one to two hours of the office), approximately 50-60% Required Qualifications: - In process Bachelor's degree in Accounting and/or Masters in Accountancy - Good work ethic, service driven, strong organizational skills, and the ability to take on responsibility - Excellent communication skills a MUST Required Skills: Accounting, Audit Procedures, Financial Statement Preparation
