Job Description
Melaleuca's in-house restaurant serves a wide ranging menu that is a great benefit to our employees. The Line Cook prepares and cooks various food items. If you are looking for a great job with career potential that also has a good work schedule, this is it.
Overview
- Starting pay of $16.10 per hour
- Shift is Monday through Friday 7am-4pm (no weekends or holidays)

Responsibilities
- Consistently prepares and cooks breakfast and lunch menu items to order
- Performs tasks such as grilling, broiling, sauteing and frying as required
- Assists with preparing items for grab and go's, salad bar (i.e., wash and cut up vegetables, slice meats, eggs, house-made dressings, etc.)
- Assists with planning, preparing and executing catering opportunities that may include working some evenings, weekends and holidays
- Gets ingredients ready for next day’s entrees
- Assists with closing duties (i.e., putting food away, emptying the garbage and general cleaning)
- Cleans and services kitchen equipment (i.e., fryer, 6burner, broiler, change filters, ovens, meat slicer etc.)
- Assists in training other food service assistants as needed by demonstrating tasks, answering questions, etc.
- Monitors food quality by following recipes with accuracy. First-in First-out food safety practices and measures proper food portioning with a scale
- Practices safe food handling and maintains cleanliness of work station
- Inspects quality of own work
- Ensures that all product delivered to our guests meets the expectations of Melaleuca and the Executive Chef
- Performs other duties as assigned or needed
Qualifications
- Previous Line Cook experience is preferred
- Ability to work independently
- Customer service skills
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
- Ability to work under stress
- Visually read recipes, orders, product labels, etc.
- Ability to read, write, and perform math skills
- Ability to perform the essential duties with efficiency and accuracy
- Written and verbal communication skills
