This position is onsite in North Haven, CT (minimum 4 days/week), and requires travel up to 40% of the time (primarily domestic; occasionally international).
We are seeking aGlobal SupportEngineerto join Medtronic’s Surgical Robotics organization, supporting theHugo™Robotic‑AssistedSurgery System. This is a highly visible,hands‑ontechnical role focused on ensuring system uptime, supporting complex clinical environments, and serving as the escalation point between Field Service, Engineering, R&D, and othercross‑functionalteams.

WhatYou’llDo
Serve asLevel3technical escalation supportfor Hugo robotic systems across the U.S. (and globally as needed)
Act as the technical bridge between:
Field Service Engineers
Product Engineering and R&D
Quality, Manufacturing, and Commercial teams
Supportsystem installs, repairs, and critical uptime events, includingtime‑sensitiveescalations tied to live surgical cases
Provideon‑siteand remote technical support to field teams and, when needed, directly engage with hospital stakeholders alongside Sales and Leadership
Identifyissues, diagnose root causes, anddrive
Partner with Engineering and R&D to:
Evaluate new concepts
Provide feedback fromreal‑worlduse
Influencedesign‑for‑serviceimprovements
Supportearly‑stageand complex product deployments, including clinical andpost‑launchenvironments
Document findings, contribute to technical reports, and support continuous improvement efforts
WhatWe’reLooking For:
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineeringor a related technical field
2+ years of experience in technical support, service engineering, field service, systems engineering, or a similarhands‑onrole
Willingness to obtain andmaintainall required vendor credentialingin accordance withhospital policies for access tooperatingrooms andsterile environments.
This role requires a valid passport for travel outside of the UnitedStates
Strongly Preferred:
Strong mechanical, electromechanical, software, or systems troubleshooting skills
Able tooperateconfidently inhigh‑pressureclinical or customer environments
Comfortable working independently and makingcomplexdecisions
Willingness to travel and work flexible hours when urgent issues arise
Experience supporting complex systems (robotics, capital equipment, medical devices, automation, aerospace, etc.)
Experience interfacing with product engineering or R&D teams
Hands‑ontechnical background (professional or personal) such as:
Mechanical repair
Electronics troubleshooting
Software or networking fundamentals
Comfortable navigating both technical and interpersonal challenges (includingcustomer‑facingsituations)
For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.

Medtronic offers a competitive Salary and flexible Benefits Package
Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$84,800.00 - $127,200.00
This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).
The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).
The following benefits and additional compensation are available to those regular employees who work 20+ hours per week: Health, Dental and vision insurance,Health Savings Account,Healthcare Flexible Spending Account,Life insurance, Long-term disability leave,Dependent daycare spending account,Tuition assistance/reimbursement, andSimple Steps (global well-being program).
