Job Description
Summary: Medline is a leading healthcare company, and they are seeking a Refurbishing Technician to join their team in Redmond, Oregon. The role involves inspecting, marking, testing, and refurbishing invasive medical devices while ensuring compliance with standard operating procedures and FDA guidelines.
Responsibilities:
- Receive containers of devices from Identification department
- Distribute devices to appropriate work station based on type of refurbishment process required for device
- Use a variety of tools and devices to restore medical device to original or better condition using one or more of the following processes; Glass bead blasting, Hand sharpening using files/ blades/etc., Machine sharpening, Drilling of holes to dry devices, Using adhesives to secure pieces of the device, Insulating devices
- Mark the device as reprocessed for appropriate tracking of quantity of time same device has been reprocessed
- Use microscopes in the reprocessing process or after reprocessing to inspect condition of device
- Verify all reprocessed devices meet acceptable function standards through inspection process
- In each duty previously listed, technician must confirm devices are accurate according to orders and recording work done on the order record (PCR)
- Verify that devices being sent to next production area are an exact match to computer and paper records, sign off documents and computer records accurately and timely
- Assist other departments as needed to ensure production output meets or exceeds goals
- Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
- Must be able to communicate in basic English with management and co-workers (Speak and basic reading ability required)
- Sit or stand for 10 hour shifts with appropriate meal and rest breaks
- Work in a room with washing machines, dryers, racks, tables, and limited room for movement
- Work in a room with continuous moderate to high level of noise
- Lift, push, or pull batches of devices averaging 50 lbs up to 50 times per day
- Perform repetitive tasks, some of which are small motion tasks through the entire shift
- Focused and detail oriented to be able to identify product discrepancies or flaws and take appropriate action
Preferred Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Any prior work experience in a manufacturing role is preferred
