Job Description
Summary: McNeil & Co. is a company that promotes progress and inspires its clients through collaboration and innovation. The Claims Data Analyst position is responsible for various administrative functions in an insurance claim organization, including data entry, telephone communication with customers, and preparation of reports to illustrate department trends. This role supports the claims process through data management and administrative assistance.
Responsibilities:
- Receive FNOL (first notice of loss) data and validate in preparation for new claims set up in the company claim management system
- Complete the corresponding claim set up’s from FNOL data OR at the direction of the Claim Adjuster, Supervisor or Manager
- Diverse telephone work responsibilities to include taking FNOL data over the phone, first-line telephone contact with insureds, agents, claimants, attorneys, insurance companies, medical providers, and others directing the callers to the appropriate contacts, verifying information over the phone, following up on information as directed or requested by others in the Claim Department, and providing information to others over the phone according to internal procedures and authorization from the Chief Claim Officer
- Other data entry and data reconciliation for the Claim Department, including the sorting and management of all electronic and paper data received
- Closed claim data entry
- Verify, manage, and send Claim Closing letters generated by the claim management system
- Data extraction and management tasks. Preparation and maintenance of reports, exhibits, and graphs with oversight from the Claim Administrative Supervisor
- Provide backup assistance to Claim Assignment Analyst as needed
- Provide administrative assistance for Chief Claim Officer as needed
- Complete other administrative tasks as needed
Required Qualifications:
- College-level degree or insurance-related experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
- Very strong written and oral communication skills
- Good analytical skills including the ability to work with various types of data
- Detail oriented with the ability to work independently when needed
- Superior collaboration and teaming skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior administrative experience is preferred but not required
- Growth potential beyond current role
