Job Description
Summary: Mayo Clinic Rochester is seeking interns for their Application Protection Team within the Office of Information Security. Interns will support the enterprise Vulnerability Management Program and gain real-world experience in cybersecurity, while working on various operational tasks related to threat management and secure software development.
Responsibilities:
- Support our enterprise Vulnerability Management Program and Secure-SDLC
- Identify and report vulnerabilities, including CVEs
- Provide remediation advice to technical, clinical, and business stakeholders
- Assess risk levels based on factors such as the number of affected assets, network exposure, and exploit maturity
- Perform operational tasks through the following services offered by our team to Mayo Clinic:
- Threat and Exposure Management
- External attack surface discovery
- Vulnerability Threat Monitoring and Triage
- Continuous Vulnerability Scanning
- Dynamic Application Security Testing
- Enterprise Asset Scanning (Servers, Endpoints, Containers, IoT, etc)
- Secure Software Development Lifecycle
- Static Application Code Scanning
- Container lifecycle and vulnerability management
- Risk & Exception management
- Provide essential support to maintain these services
- Work on tasks to enhance efficiency through automation
Required Qualifications:
- The incumbent must be enrolled in a bachelors, masters or graduate degree program from a college or university
- Typically, this internship would occur after the student has taken most of the courses required by the degree program
- Where applicable - the degree program must require an internship as a graduation requirement (or offer as a credit option)
