LIMITED TENURE RESEARCH TECH - KASHYAP LAB Location: Rochester, MN, United States We are seeking a highly motivated Research Technologist to join our Germ-Free Animal Facility team. This position supports the maintenance and operation of specialized animal colonies and contributes to research projects requiring germ-free and gnotobiotic animal models. Key Responsibilities • Perform routine animal husbandry and colony management in a germ-free environment. • Handle and monitor research animals in accordance with institutional and regulatory guidelines. • Assist with breeding, weaning, health monitoring, and record keeping. • Support facility operations, including sterilization procedures, equipment maintenance, and environmental monitoring. • Collaborate with investigators and facility staff to support ongoing research projects. • Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to established standard operating procedures. Requires bachelor's degree in biology, chemistry, other relevant science, or an associates degree with 6 years of relevant laboratory experience. Must exhibit a solid understanding of lab techniques, equipment, and safety. Must have the ability to organize and carry out laboratory techniques independently and in a team setting. Experience with basic data analysis is required. This position requires demonstrated writing skills. Preferred Qualifications • Experience with animal handling and husbandry, particularly rodent models. • Experience working in a Department of Comparative Medicine (DCM) or similar laboratory animal resources environment. • Familiarity with aseptic techniques and/or germ-free, gnotobiotic, or barrier animal facilities is desirable. • Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to following protocols precisely; attention to detail is critical for success in this role. • Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
