Pricing Intern at Matson Logistics in Walnut Creek, CA

Summary: Matson Logistics is a leading ocean shipping and logistics provider throughout the Pacific. The Pricing Intern will support the Pricing organization by evaluating rate proposals, analyzing market data, and assisting in competitive pricing strategies across core trade lanes. Responsibilities: - Evaluate rate proposals and prepare data driven pricing recommendations - Research market trends and customer requirements to inform pricing decisions - Assist in preparing, updating, and maintaining tariff pages and contract documentation - Partner with Sales to assemble pricing packages aligned with customer needs and company objectives - Collaborate with Sales, Customer Service, Legal, and Operations on pricing initiatives and process improvements - Help organize shared pricing folders, documentation libraries, and internal tools - Support special AI related projects as needed Required Qualifications: - Rising Junior or Senior pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Analytics, Transportation, Supply Chain, Data Science, or related field - Completion of introductory business, analytics, economics, or statistics coursework - Minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher - Interest in pricing, transportation/logistics, and data analytics/ML - Must be able to work onsite in Walnut Creek at least 3 days per week - Strong analytical and problem solving abilities with high attention to detail - Clear written and verbal communication; comfortable presenting findings - Ability to work independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams - Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word Preferred Qualifications: - Familiarity with Tableau or Power BI - Basic Python and/or SQL for data wrangling and analysis Required Skills: Analytical skills, Microsoft Excel, Data analysis Important Skills: Microsoft Word, Tableau, Power BI Nice-to-Have Skills: Basic Python, Basic SQL
