Job Description
Summary: Henkels & McCoy, Inc., a MasTec subsidiary, is a leading utility construction firm supporting critical infrastructure markets across North America. The Project Controls Intern will support Finance, Operations, and Project Management teams with project financial management, forecasting, cost tracking, billing, reporting, and operational analysis.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with project setup and maintenance within financial systems
- Support the tracking and analysis of project costs, budgets, and revenue
- Help monitor customer billing activities and project expenditures
- Assist with forecasting project financial performance and identifying risks and opportunities
- Prepare reports and dashboards related to project financial and operational metrics
- Collaborate with Project Managers, Operations, and Finance teams to gather and analyze project data
- Support month-end close activities, reconciliations, and financial reporting
- Assist with documenting and maintaining financial controls and business processes
- Participate in ad hoc reporting and analysis projects
- Gain exposure to project accounting practices, forecasting methodologies, and infrastructure project management
Required Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Finance
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Construction Management
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Project Management
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Economics or related field
- Strong interest in project controls, construction finance, or infrastructure operations
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous internship, co-op, academic project, or leadership experience
- Exposure to accounting, budgeting, financial analysis, or construction management coursework
- Experience working with data analysis and reporting tools is a plus
