Job Description
Summary: Mass General Brigham is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to patient care, research, teaching, and community service. They are seeking a Bioinformatics Specialist I to support their research group in analyzing sequencing data to identify structural variants within the human genome and to collaborate with research teams for data analysis needs.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the analysis of biological data using bioinformatics tools and software
- Perform data processing, quality control, and database maintenance
- Collaborate with research teams to understand their data analysis needs
- Support the development and implementation of data analysis pipelines
- Conduct basic statistical analyses and data visualization
- Participate in the interpretation and presentation of results
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Complies with all policies and standards
Required Qualifications:
- Practical experience with programming languages, such as Java, C++, R, and/or Python
- Experience with computational analysis, algorithm development, and statistical analysis
- Knowledge of existing bioinformatics analysis tools, methods, and databases
- Ability to perform high-quality, large-scale computational analyses under supervision
- Excel at critical thinking and be a quick learner of new analytical approaches
- Ability to apply or develop novel computational methods to solve complex problems
- Assist in the analysis of biological data using bioinformatics tools and software

- Collaborate with research teams to understand their data analysis needs
