They are seeking a Bioinformatics Specialist I to support their research group in analyzing sequencing data to identify structural variants within the human genome and to collaborate with research teams for data analysis needs. Responsibilities: - Assist in the analysis of biological data using bioinformatics tools and software - Perform data processing, quality control, and database maintenance - Collaborate with research teams to understand their data analysis needs - Support the development and implementation of data analysis pipelines - Conduct basic statistical analyses and data visualization - Participate in the interpretation and presentation of results - Performs other duties as assigned - Complies with all policies and standards Required Qualifications: - Practical experience with programming languages, such as Java, C++, R, and/or Python - Experience with computational analysis, algorithm development, and statistical analysis - Knowledge of existing bioinformatics analysis tools, methods, and databases - Ability to perform high-quality, large-scale computational analyses under supervision - Excel at critical thinking and be a quick learner of new analytical approaches - Ability to apply or develop novel computational methods to solve complex problems - Assist in the analysis of biological data using bioinformatics tools and software - Perform data processing, quality control, and database maintenance - Collaborate with research teams to understand their data analysis needs - Support the development and implementation of data analysis pipelines - Conduct basic statistical analyses and data visualization - Participate in the interpretation and presentation of results - Demonstrated independent design and innovation in one or more areas of specialization: algorithm development, data analysis, quality assurance/testing, pipeline software/computing development, user interface design & report development, web-based application development, or report development Required Skills: Bioinformatics, Genomic data analysis, Structural variant analysis, Genomic population databases, Phenotype and genotype data aggregation, Programming in Java, Programming in C++, Programming in R, Programming in Python, Computational analysis, Algorithm development, Statistical analysis, Bioinformatics analysis tools, Data processing, Quality control, Database maintenance, Data analysis pipelines, Data visualization Benefits: Comprehensive benefits, Career advancement opportunities, Differentials, Premiums and bonuses as applicable, Recognition programs designed to celebrate your contributions and support your professional growth
