Consumer Insights Manager at MASH in Jakarta, Java, Indonesia

We’re looking for a highly analytical Consumer Insights Specialist to help turn product behaviour, consumer feedback, competitor activity, and social and marketing signals into clear, actionable intelligence across Southeast Asia.

This role sits at the intersection of consumer research, product analysis, competitive intelligence, and AI-enabled workflow design. You’ll dig deep into how digital products are experienced in-market, benchmark them against competitors, track how consumer sentiment is shifting, and translate those findings into sharper positioning, product recommendations, and growth opportunities.

We’re looking for someone who is naturally curious, highly detail-oriented, and comfortable moving between qualitative insight, quantitative data, product experience, and technical experimentation.

Product Research & Competitive Intelligence

• Conduct deep-dive product research, teardowns, and competitor benchmarking across consumer apps and Gen AI experiences.
• Evaluate user journeys, onboarding, UX/UI, retention mechanics, and product usability across mobile and web environments.
• Track competitor launches, feature rollouts, positioning shifts, and broader market movements across Southeast Asia.
• Turn product and competitor observations into clear strategic implications for marketing, product, and go-to-market teams.

Consumer Insights & Market Testing

• Design and manage structured research and testing approaches across Southeast Asian markets, with Indonesia as a key priority.
• Combine qualitative research, social listening, consumer feedback, and quantitative signals to identify patterns, friction points, and opportunities.
• Monitor conversation volume, sentiment, share of voice, and emerging consumer perceptions across digital and social channels.
• Work with research and analytics partners to deliver focused deep dives and thematic studies when additional expertise is needed.

Data, Automation & Reporting

• Build lightweight, repeatable workflows that improve how research data is collected, structured, and analysed.
• Use scripting, low-code, or no-code tools to automate repetitive research, data ingestion, and reporting tasks.
• Create dashboards, reporting views, and insight summaries that give stakeholders faster access to high-signal findings.
• Experiment with Gen AI tools to improve research efficiency while maintaining strong human judgment, accuracy, and quality control.

About You

• You bring 8+ years of experience in consumer insights, product research, product marketing, product strategy, market intelligence, or adjacent analytical roles, ideally within technology or high-growth digital product environments.
• You are highly detail-oriented and comfortable conducting deep, structured analysis rather than relying on surface-level observations.
• You have strong qualitative and quantitative research skills and know how to build methodologies that answer real business questions.
• You are a hands-on user of Gen AI tools and are curious about how AI can support research, testing, and insight generation.
• You have some practical experience with basic scripting, automation, low-code/no-code tools, or dashboard building, and enjoy finding smarter ways to work.
• You understand how to translate complex findings into concise, strategic recommendations that product and marketing teams can act on.
• You are comfortable presenting findings clearly and confidently to cross-functional stakeholders, including senior audiences.
• You bring strong knowledge of Indonesia and wider Southeast Asian consumer behaviour, with fluent professional English and Bahasa Indonesia.

Please note Due to the high volume of applications, we unfortunately can’t get back to every one of you, and only successful applicants will be contacted. When you share your details with us, we consider this as consent for us to use your data during the application process. We may implement AI in various stages of the recruitment process, but human involvement will always remain as part of our hiring ethos. At the moment, MASH is not in a position to sponsor work visas, so you have to be eligible to legally work in the country where we’re hiring.
