Job Description
Summary: Marsh McLennan Agency is a leading provider of business insurance and employee benefits solutions. They are seeking a Corporate Development Intern to assist the team in various tasks and projects, building the skills necessary for a future Corporate Development position.
Responsibilities:
- Compiles data regarding companies to be acquired, in support of the due diligence process
- Participates in revenue and expense analyses and projections and prepares presentations on the results of research and analysis of acquisition targets
- Follows trends and developments in competitive environments and presents findings to Corporate Development management
- Identifies, investigates, and analyzes possible acquisition, merger, and licensing opportunities and strategic partnerships
- Assists in analyzing competitor performance on a periodic basis
- Manages on-going licensing agreements, acquisitions, and/or alliances as the business representative for the company to extract the most value from the relationship
- Screens and evaluates projects for potential outside financing and coordinates review of legal documentation
- Conducts financial forecasting and modeling assignments
- Maintains databases of information used by the Corporate Development team, including completed transactions, competitor profiles, and status of potential Corporate Development targets
- Tracks status of action items to be completed during and after closing transactions and maintains databases of information
Required Qualifications:
- Undergraduate within 1-2 years of graduation, working towards a bachelor's degree preferably in a business or finance related field of study, and with a competitive academic standing
- Proficiency with computers and Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Strong interpersonal skills to establish rapport with internal associates and any prospective or existing clients
- Results oriented with demonstrated skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities
- Demonstrated ability to resolve problems and present results neatly, with clarity and precision
- Ability to work semi-autonomously in a fast-paced environment
