Beyond the classroom, you will act as a trusted technical expert and spokesperson, strategically building and nurturing relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and academic stakeholders to enhance Royal Canin’s reputation and expand our path of influence. You will elevate our status as an industry thought leader by delivering scientific and nutritional presentations and offering consultations on our therapeutic and retail diet lines at university events. Additionally, you will handle key cross-functional responsibilities including clinical trial support, advanced nutritional consultations, regulatory assistance, and academic crisis management to champion the science-driven innovations that help make a better world for pets.
What are we looking for?
- Bachelor's in Veterinary Science or Doctor of Veterinary Medicine
- Board Certified in Veterinary Nutrition
- In-clinic experience with an understanding of trends in the pet industry and the science behind them.
- Educational design and teaching experience preferred
- Self-driven, adaptable, and the ability to work independently
What will be your key responsibilities?
- Development and implementation of Royal Canin Veterinary Nutrition Education Program for teaching nutrition to veterinary students at participating universities. Program includes: Developing curricula for non-branded nutrition education; Teaching relevant nutrition content to students, either virtually or in-person; Duties consistent with offering education, including grading and student evaluations.
- In collaboration with the Scientific Affairs team, engage nutritional residents within the university space as well as non-traditional routes with a focus on furthering their educational advancement. This includes and prioritizes Royal Canin sponsored programs.
- Engage and manage university student ambassadors at assigned universities to promote brand growth and development.
- Develop and expand relationships with strategic stakeholders and key opinion leaders in academia and university environments to further the understanding, acceptance and promulgation of Mars and Royal Canin scientific research specific to our therapeutic and retail diet lines.
- Elevate Royal Canin US status as a thought leader through scientific and nutrition presentations and consultations at university events.
- Provide scientific support (training/consultations) on the therapeutic and retail diet lines for key opinion leaders and students in university settings.
- Promote brand awareness through the Royal Canin University Feeding Program and manage enrollment and expansion of this program at assigned universities.
- Increase awareness of scientific information among internal Royal Canin stakeholders (student ambassadors) through trainings including webinars and summer student ambassador meeting.
- Network with key opinion leaders at universities to examine opportunities for partnership, including continuing education events and research funding and collaboration.
- Cross functional responsibilities to include – clinical trial support, nutritional consultation escalations, regulatory support and internal education.
- Liaise with key opinion leaders at universities in crisis management situations.

The base pay range for this position at commencement of employment is between the below range, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including but not limited to, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, if eligible, including variable pay & general allowances (depending on the position and employee’s work schedule). Subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable policies and plans then in effect, and depending on the position offered and the employee’s work schedule (i.e., part-time schedule), eligible employees are automatically enrolled in a 401(k) plan, as well as participate in Company-sponsored medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance plans for the employee and the employee’s eligible dependents, and may be eligible to take up to 18 weeks of paid parental leave. Employees will also receive the following paid-time off (which may be prorated based on start date and the employee’s work schedule): 120 hours of vacation per year, paid sick time for eligible Associates of 100% pay continuation for a maximum of 40 hours per calendar year, and 12 paid holidays throughout the calendar year that include both fixed and flexible holidays.
