Description of Role:
The Education & Training Coordinator is accountable for the execution and tracking of the training program developed by the Site. This associate collaborates on the development of the over-arching training program, develops training materials, tracks associate participation, manages the logistics of delivering training, and at times presents training materials to teams and individuals. This role will deliver training sessions as required to either end users or as part of “Train the Trainer” sessions. The Education & Training Coordinator takes initiatives to make improvements in an effort to continuously improve the overall program effectiveness. This role will assist with onboarding of hourly associates and assist with the 30/60/90-day evaluations. This associate will be a key member on the E&T pillar.

Minimum Requirements:
• Submit an OAP or Cross-Bid form
• 3+ years in a production environment
• Maintain good standing status (*see additional information below)
• Proficiency in software systems including MS Office and e-mail
Physical Requirements:
• Perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Frequent lifting/carrying (10-50 lbs) and pushing/pulling (50-300 lbs)
• Frequent bending, stooping, twisting, handling, and gripping.
• Ability to work at elevated heights, climb stairs, lean over equipment, and operate in confined spaces.
• Ability to stand and work on feet for extended periods, with shifts lasting 12 hours
• Capable of working in non-climate-controlled areas including hot, cold and wet conditions.
• Proficient in understanding, communicating, reading, and writing in English.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Technical degree or certification(s)
• Experience with developing and delivering training
• Familiarity with traditional and modern training methods (mentoring, coaching, on-the-job or in classroom training, e-learning, workshops, simulations, etc.)
What will be your Key Responsibilities?
• Develop and maintain training records for all associates site wide. Create documents within POKA for associate capability building and delivering knowledge transfer
• Ownership of associate growth and communication of gaps to leadership teams
• Comply with Mars Petcare Quality and Food Safety Practices, GMPs, and other Food Safety and Regulatory Standards in order to ensure we manufacture a quality product
• Drive Continuous Improvement within the factory
• Develop training materials such as videos, presentations, SOPs, pamphlets, e-learnings targeting specific skills as defined by the training program.
• Work with external vendors to provide specific technical training to site associates.
• Serve as a presenter of training materials, including nights and weekends where needed.
• Provide leadership, objectives, feedback, and performance coaching to all associates involved in site education and training programs; especially on the job trainers and expert trainers.
• Identify losses, analyze and create/update content to provide for gap closer.
• Recommend training courses for areas with performance issues based on information from the FMOS process, direct observation on the production floor, and partnership with Staff.
• Schedule and coordinate individual and team training sessions.
• Continuously seek and support new approaches, practices and processes to improve the efficiency of training services offered.
• Work closely with CVS to develop training requirements for new projects/processes.
• Help line managers to solve specific training needs/problems, either one-on-one or in a group.
• Provide performance feedback to the Training Manager for ratings purposes as it relates to certification levels, training completions, and overall engagement in the training program of associates.

*“Good standing” for these purposes is defined as performance rated better than Unsatisfactory in the prior and current year and not on a Performance Improvement Plan or Off-Track at the time of application and no active documented written warnings
