Our Mars Canada, Pet Nutrition team, is looking for a talented Demand Planner. As a demand planner, the candidate will be responsible for driving forecast accuracy, timely input of forecast, and will serve as the gatekeeper of their portfolio’s demand plan.
The candidate will also serve as reporting lead ensuring maintenance of forecast templates for monthly DMR and maintenance of Power BI reports reflecting forecast accuracy and relevant demand data. This role requires a strong communicator, collaborator, and a data-savvy individual as it requires soliciting of a variety of inputs which would affect the quality of demand plan passed through the S&OP+ process each cycle. This role also requires strong technical skills as it leads all steps to publish our forecast each cycle including necessary adjustments.
*The ideal candidate will have exposure to demand planning and have experience with running bottoms-up and top-down forecast alignment meetings with sales.
What are we looking for?
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance or Marketing.
- 2+ years of overall experience, with 1–2 years dedicated to Demand Planning or CPFR in CPG. Supply Planning experience would be an asset.
- Understands demand dynamics of the CPG retail environment in Canada.
- Ability to effectively collaborate with supporting functions – Sales, Supply, Finance and Marketing Teams.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- A motivated self-starter.
- Data-driven decision maker, with a passion for insights to drive action.
- Continuous improvement focused individual who leads with agility.
- Advanced user of MS office (Powerpoint, Excel, Word, etc).
- PowerBI experience is strongly preferred.
What will be your key responsibilities?
- Serve as the demand planner for key brands.
- Hold detailed reviews with our Sales team to ensure alignment by account to our annual forecast.
- Adherence to availability of Y+1 forecast per the determined Planning calendar milestones.
- Serve as a key contributor for the DMR step in the S&OP process, effectively explaining the demand plan for their portfolio using POS and market data as benchmark.
- Serve as the reporting lead ensuring maintenance of forecast templates for monthly DMR and maintenance of Power BI reports reflecting forecast accuracy and relevant demand data.
