Build Relationships. Learn the Business. Grow Into Sales.

At Cerro Flow Products, part of Marmon Holdings—a Berkshire Hathaway company—we have proudly delivered “Made in the USA” copper products for over 80 years. As part of a global organization with over 125 autonomous businesses, we serve the Plumbing, HVAC/R, and Industrial markets with a focus on innovation, customer satisfaction, and cost efficiency. Known for our quality and reliability, we also provide exceptional sales support and product expertise.

We’re creating a new Business Development Representative role to help build and grow our lead development program. This is a ground-floor position: the person in this seat will help shape the process rather than inherit one.

What You’ll Do

As a Business Development Representative, you’ll identify and qualify new business opportunities, partner with the outside sales team on near-term prospects, and personally develop longer-horizon relationships within assigned market segments. This is not a desk-only job. A portion of your first year is spent on the plant floor and alongside our customer experience and operations teams, because you can’t credibly sell copper tube without understanding how it’s made, how it’s ordered, and what customers actually call about.

Responsibilities include:

Opportunity Development

• Identifying, researching, and qualifying new business opportunities across assigned markets and segments.
• Evaluating opportunities for fit, timing, and account relevance, and prioritizing accordingly.
• Partnering with outside sales on near-term opportunities, providing the context needed for effective follow-up.
• Developing longer-horizon opportunities directly through sustained, professional outreach.

Relationship Building

• Building relationships with prospects, engineers, distributors, and decision makers across assigned markets.
• Maintaining consistent follow-up over extended sales cycles.
• Representing Cerro Flow professionally in written communication, by phone, and in person.

Process and Systems

• Maintaining accurate records of activity, contacts, and pipeline within the CRM system.
• Helping establish and refine tracking, reporting, and follow-up practices for the program.
• Reporting on pipeline activity and results to sales leadership.

Learning the Business: Plant Floor and Cross-Functional Immersion

• Spending regular, scheduled time on the production floor learning how copper tube is manufactured, what drives lead times, and what distinguishes our products.
• Working alongside the customer experience team to understand order flow, pricing mechanics, and the issues customers raise most often.
• Partnering with operations and supply chain to understand capacity, inventory, and what we can realistically commit to.
• Building relationships across the plant so that when a customer question comes up, you know who to ask.
• Accompanying sales leadership on customer presentations, progressing toward independently delivering presentations.

Decision Making

• Exercising judgment in prioritizing opportunities and determining which warrant immediate escalation and which merit longer-term development.
• Applying professional judgment in representing Cerro Flow to prospects and customers, consistent with Company policies and commercial objectives.

What You’ll Gain

This role is intentionally structured as a development path into outside sales, and the hands-on time in the plant is what makes that path real.

When you join our team, you’ll gain:

• A clear path into outside sales built into the role from day one.
• A ground-floor opportunity to help shape a new lead development program rather than inherit one.
• Real product knowledge from scheduled time on the production floor and alongside our customer experience, operations, and supply chain teams.
• Customer presentation experience, starting alongside sales leadership and progressing toward delivering presentations on your own.
• Competitive salary plus overtime ($55,000–$62,000 annually).
• Comprehensive benefits, including medical, dental, vision, 401(k) with company match, tuition reimbursement, and more.
• Long-term stability with a global organization backed by Berkshire Hathaway.
• A collaborative team where great people come together to achieve remarkable results.

At Cerro Flow Products, we believe in fostering a workplace built on diversity, inclusion, and positivity. Our culture celebrates teamwork, innovation, and shared success, creating an environment where every employee feels valued and empowered to thrive. At Cerro, your ideas and contributions matter, and together, we build a workplace that inspires growth, creativity, and excellence. • Comfort learning and working with new software tools.
• Willingness to work onsite in Sauget, Illinois, including regular time on the production floor in a manufacturing environment.
• Prior exposure to sales, customer service, or business development in any industry (preferred).
• Bachelor’s degree (preferred). Relevant fields include Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, Construction Management, Civil or Mechanical Engineering Technology, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Distribution, or Public Administration.
