Job Description
Summary: Mariner Finance has been providing innovative lending solutions since 1927 and is dedicated to exceptional customer service. The Human Resources Internship role involves supporting the HR Operations Department with various projects related to benefits, compensation, employee relations, and payroll.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with key HR/Benefits initiatives, including support for the benefits dependent audit, vendor medical website migration, and tracking career conversation follow-ups and performance management goals
- Help maintain and update benefits-related content to improve employee communication and engagement
- Support coordination with vendors and internal teams on projects such as 401(k) provider changes and financial wellness programs (e.g., vendor app rollout)
- Provide support for HR programs (e.g. employee well-being initiatives, relocation, lifestyle coaching and counseling programs)
- Assist in planning benefits onboarding sessions and orientation materials for new hires
- Help gather and analyze feedback from the annual benefits survey and other employee engagement efforts
- Support administrative and compliance-related activities, including preparation for benefits and 401(k) audits
- Represent HR Ops department in cross-functional projects and partner across the People organization to execute on key business priorities
- May perform additional functions depending on market demand and staffing in order to provide consistent quality customer service
Required Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Communication, English, or a related field
- Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word)
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Self-starter with exceptional work ethic, motivation, and desire to learn
- Superior attention to detail and organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with HR or Benefit systems
