Summary: Marathon Petroleum Corporation is an energy industry leader committed to fostering a collaborative team environment. They are seeking an Intern for the Natural Gas and NGL Services, responsible for installation, maintenance, calibration, troubleshooting, repairs, and system development for instrumentation and electrical systems. Responsibilities: - Provides I & E (instrumentation and electrical) support for assigned assets such as pipelines, compressor stations, and processing facilities - Installs, inspects, troubleshoots, maintains, repairs, and calibrates wide variety of midstream instrumentation such as, but not limited to, flow meters, transmitters, flame detectors, gas detectors, sensors, analyzers, data loggers, programmable logic controller (PLCs), distributive control system (DCS), and various valve / actuator assemblies - Installs, inspects, troubleshoots, maintains, and repairs electrical equipment such as, but not limited to, motor control centers, generators, transformers, switches, relays, wiring, electrical signal and communication systems, variable frequency drive (VFD), power distribution center (PDCs), uninterrupted power supply (UPS) - Interfaces with industrial control systems. Performs loops checks, point-to-point verification, and other testing methods - Maintains complete, accurate and regulatory-compliant documentation utilizing the work management process and procedures Required Qualifications: - Candidates must be pursuing a degree or certification in electrical or instrumentation technical disciplines - Strong academic performance - Candidates must be authorized to work in the US on a full-time indefinite basis without the need for employment visa sponsorship now or in the future - Availability to work 40 hours per week - Will require time spent in the field monitoring and managing field activities as required in various areas of our Midstream natural gas and light crude facilities, including pipelines, compressor stations, pump stations and other related facilities - Many projects may require travel; therefore, a valid driver's license is required Preferred Qualifications: - Proficient use in electrical testing, calibration, and/or instrument communication tools is preferred - Availability for multiple work terms is preferred - Military experience a plus Required Skills: Electrical testing, Calibration, Instrument communication tools, Instrumentation, Electrical equipment maintenance, Troubleshooting instrumentation, electrical systems, Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), Distributed Control Systems (DCS), Flow meters, Transmitters, Flame detectors, Gas detectors, Sensors, Analyzers, Data loggers, Valve, actuator assemblies, Motor control centers, Generators, Transformers, Switches, Relays, Wiring, Electrical signal, communication systems, Variable Frequency Drives (VFD), Power Distribution Centers (PDCs), Uninterrupted Power Supply (UPS) Internship Start Date: Start in 2026 Summer Benefits: Access to health, vision, and dental insurance, Paid time off, 401k matching program, Paid parental leave, Educational reimbursement, Discretionary company-sponsored annual bonus program
