Job Description
Summary: Marathon Petroleum Corporation is committed to fostering a collaborative team environment and is seeking a Financial Analyst - Credit Risk. The role involves performing financial analysis, managing credit risk, and ensuring effective communication between various departments to protect the company's investment in accounts receivable.
Responsibilities:
- Perform financial analysis and collection tasks on assigned counterparty portfolio
- Prepare and track credit and collection data with a high level of accuracy and accountability
- Assist other analysts and Credit Director in managing guarantees, prepays, deposits, and other credit instruments and contracts
- Collaborate with collectors, analysts, Marketing and other relevant departments to effectively share and obtain credit information
- Assist in system testing, data entry, and data integrity efforts
- Identifies areas for process improvement within the role, proposing changes to improve efficiency and accuracy
- Aggregates data from various internal and external sources for routine reporting
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business, finance, accounting, or related discipline is required
- Zero (0) to Three (3) years in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
- Analytical skills using spreadsheets and ability to represent data visually are required
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong abilities to clearly convey thinking and distill information into summary form are required
- Individual clearly demonstrates a high level of self-motivation, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize time and tasks
- Individual has strong independent problem-solving abilities and analytical skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced computer skills including use of Microsoft Excel is preferred
- Familiarity with RightAngle, SAP, Bloomberg, and/or Salesforce highly desirable
