Job Description
We are looking for an experienced and dedicated NIOS Coordinator with Special Education specialization to manage and coordinate NIOS academic activities while providing appropriate support and guidance to learners with special educational needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate all NIOS academic and administrative activities of the school/study centre.
- Handle NIOS student admissions, registration, documentation and academic records.
- Coordinate with students, parents, teachers and NIOS authorities.
- Guide students regarding NIOS courses, subjects, examinations and academic requirements.
- Support learners with special educational needs and ensure appropriate individualised learning support.
- Coordinate with Special Educators, subject teachers and support staff.
- Assist in implementing IEPs and suitable accommodations for students with disabilities.
- Monitor student progress and maintain proper academic records.
- Coordinate examination-related requirements, including applicable special provisions and support arrangements.
- Conduct parent/student counselling and provide regular academic updates.
- Ensure compliance with NIOS guidelines and institutional procedures.
- Prepare reports and maintain NIOS-related documentation.
Educational Qualification
- Bachelor's / Master's Degree in Education, Special Education, Psychology or a related field.
- B.Ed. Special Education / equivalent Special Education qualification preferred.
- Valid RCI registration/certification will be an added advantage.
Experience
- Minimum 3 years of experience in NIOS coordination, school administration, academic coordination or special education.
- Experience handling students with special educational needs is preferred.
- Candidates with prior experience in a NIOS Study Centre will be preferred.

- Strong knowledge of NIOS academic procedures and documentation.
- Good understanding of Special Education and inclusive education practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good coordination and organizational abilities.
- Student counselling and parent-handling skills.
- Computer proficiency and good documentation skills.
- Ability to work effectively with teachers, parents and students.
Preferred Candidate
A candidate who has both NIOS coordination experience and a Special Education background, with the ability to independently manage NIOS operations and provide appropriate academic support to students with special needs.
