Production Intern- Summer 2026 at Magna International in Troy, MI

Summary: Magna International is a leading supplier in the automotive industry, focused on innovation and mobility technology. They are seeking a Production Intern who will assist in manufacturing and prototype concepts while performing various shop duties. Responsibilities: - This position functions as a shop assistant, responsible for learning manufacturing and prototype concepts - Operate machines as qualified - Lift, position, and remove workpieces from machines to assist with fitting and welding - Load, stack, and transport stock, tools, dies, and work in process manually or using a truck - Clean and scrape metal surfaces for fabrication, welding, painting, or shipping - Pick up scrap from work areas - Maintain a clean work environment with machines, tools, and equipment - Load and unload production machinery following posted instructions - Conduct visual safety inspections at the start of each shift and record findings - Report any abnormality in parts or machinery to the Supervisor or Lead hand - Support changes to machines or jobs as directed by the Supervisor or Lead hand - Address any other reasonable requests from Supervisor or Management Required Qualifications: - Some related experience preferred - Highly motivated to work, learn, and teach - High School Diploma or equivalent - Currently enrolled in a college or university - Proficient with computers and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) - Strong written and verbal communication skills - Strong technical and analytical skills in select areas of technology - Ability to sit or stand for extended periods - Average mobility to move around an office environment - Capable of conducting work on a computer Important Skills: Microsoft Office, Technical skills Nice-to-Have Skills: Analytical skills, Motivated to learn Internship Start Date: Start in 2026 Summer
