Job Description
Summary: Magna Electronics is a premier supplier for the global automotive industry, focused on creating innovative electronic systems. The IT Support Intern will provide foundational technical assistance, maintain and troubleshoot hardware, software, and network systems, while gaining real-world experience in IT operations.
Responsibilities:
- Help Desk Support: Respond to and resolve user-submitted tickets for hardware, software, and network issues
- Hardware Setup: Assist in configuring and deploying new employee workstations, including computers, monitors, and peripherals
- Software Maintenance: Install, update, and patch applications and operating systems to ensure security and functionality
- Involvement in IT Security audits including ITGC, IATC and Tisax
- Process automation through use of scripting or AI. Use of Microsoft Copilot agents to automate daily IT tasks and reduce manual workload
- Network Assistance: Troubleshoot connectivity problems and help users access network resources
- Inventory Management: Maintain accurate records of IT assets including hardware, software licenses, and mobile devices
- Documentation: Create user-friendly guides and document technical processes for internal use
- Security Support: Assist with user account management and implementation of basic security protocols
- Project Participation: Contribute to ongoing IT projects such as system upgrades, data migrations, and technology rollouts
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma
- Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a related field
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ability to review current IT audit controls and determine methods to automate data collection and processing
- Strong knowledge of AI models and the ability to create processes and automations to streamline IT workload
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Self-motivated and service-oriented with a strategic mindset
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Basic understanding of A/V integration and installation is a plus
- Strong understanding of Microsoft Copilot agents
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and basic troubleshooting tools
- Exposure to Active Directory, network infrastructure, and IT ticketing systems
- Experience with scripting (e.g., PowerShell, Bash) and database management is beneficial
