Summary: Magna International is a leader in automotive technologies, seeking an Engineering Intern to support manufacturing processes and optimize production efficiency. This role provides hands-on experience in manufacturing engineering within a dynamic environment, contributing to various projects and continuous improvement activities. Responsibilities: - Support creation and timely release of detailed work instructions to guide manufacturing processes - Ensure all process-related documentation, including FMEA, control plans, and work instructions, is maintained in proper order - Support the corporation Ergonomics program by creating videos and assisting in the creation of job assessments - Support meeting PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) requirements and assist in PDR (Production Design Release) runs - Contribute to the success of new equipment run-offs and new program prototype builds - Interfere with cross-function teams to develop and maintain FMEA, Flow Diagrams, Control Plans and work instructions - Collaborate across departments to ensure successful communication and project execution - Assist the engineering team in reducing Risk Priority Numbers (RPNs) - Support various Continuous Improvement (CI) activities across departments - Support AMR (Automated Material Replenishment) projects to enhance material flow and efficiency - Support Smart Pick rollout activities, including implementation, training and ongoing process optimization Required Qualifications: - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions - Effective communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners - Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to ensure documentation accuracy and compliance - Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment - Candidate currently enrolled in a Manufacturing, Engineering or related technical degree program - Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and familiarity with ERP or manufacturing systems - Basic understanding of manufacturing documentation such as FMEA, Control Plans and Standardized Work Preferred Qualifications: - Coursework or project experience in manufacturing processes, quality systems or industrial automation - Previous internship or co-op experience in a manufacturing or technical environment is a plus - Exposure to Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen or Six Sigma methodologies preferred - Interest in automation systems such as AMR and SmartPick Required Skills: Manufacturing processes, Quality systems, Lean Manufacturing Important Skills: Microsoft Office Suite, Root cause analysis
