About the Role
The Assembler is responsible for preparing and assembling components with precision and consistency, ensuring all products meet established quality standards. This role includes material preparation, hand-cutting, component assembly, and basic quality checks, while supporting teamwork and daily production workflows.
Roles and Responsibilities
Material Preparation & Assembly Operations
- Perform manual washing and preparation of leather materials to production standards
- Tape and format leather rolls for laser cutting
- Execute precision cutting of components with meticulous attention to detail
- Perform basic assembly and preparation tasks as assigned, including bag preparation, magnetizing, assembly sandwiching and alignment, and assembly support
- Complete assigned assembly steps in accordance with established Standard Operating Procedures
- Hand-cut and hand-drill exotic leathers such as python, alligator, stingray, etc.
Quality Assurance
- Conduct basic self-quality checks on completed tasks to ensure work meets established standards before submission for review
- Maintain consistency and quality throughout all preparation tasks
Teamwork & Communication
- Follow instructions provided by Lead Assemblers and Assembly Leadership to support daily production workflows
- Collaborate effectively with team members to meet production goals
- Assist with fulfillment preparation as directed, without responsibility for production quotas or deadlines
- Assist with other production tasks as needed to support the team
- Attend required all-hands, company meetings, assembly meetings and training sessions as scheduled
- Check Slack and email regularly and respond in a timely manner
- Proactively communicate schedule and any scheduling changes with department head and operations
Workplace Standards
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of assigned work areas and shared production spaces
- Follow all safety, cleanliness, and workplace conduct policies while working in the assembly environment

- Must be based in NYC and able to report to our office in Bushwick
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to precision work
- Ability to perform manual labor tasks, including washing and handling leather materials
- Comfortable working with leather and hand tools (training provided)
- Prompt and reliable attendance with consistent availability
- Willingness to learn and adapt to various production needs
- Comfortable working with your hands
- Team player with a positive, can-do attitude
