Job Description
Summary: Macy's is a storied retail company that has been a part of American culture for over 160 years. The Retail Merchandising Support Associate will be responsible for executing merchandise movement and placement strategies, enhancing the visual appeal of the sales floor, and ensuring a welcoming customer experience through collaboration and operational excellence.
Responsibilities:
- Executing merchandise movement and placement strategies
- Enhancing the visual appeal of the sales floor
- Maintaining well-organized and shoppable displays
- Ensuring that pricing and promotional signage is accurate and up to date
- Greeting customers with genuine hospitality
- Offering assistance to customers
- Collaborating with colleagues across departments to meet shared goals
- Supporting visual merchandising by updating mannequins and resetting floor layouts
- Maintaining a shoppable space by recovering the floor and fitting rooms
- Updating signs and pricing
- Replenishing merchandise
- Sharing loyalty program benefits with customers
- Reorganizing the department and preparing the space for a successful tomorrow
Required Qualifications:
- Flexible availability, including days, evenings, weekends and holidays with regular, dependable attendance and punctuality
- Must be able to understand and communicate effectively with customers, co-workers, and supervisors
- Must be able to read and understand employment policies and safety rules/procedures in English
- Able to create connection with customers, help the store achieve sales goals, and participate in sales-boosting events
- Create a welcoming, friendly environment for customers and colleagues, fostering meaningful conversations and connections
- Able to learn about products in the store and be able to give expert guidance to customers based on their wants, features, and choices
- Responsible for acquiring new customers by opening credit accounts and sharing loyalty benefits
- Effectively use point-of-sale technology and digital tools to streamline transactions and enhance the shopping experience
- Work seamlessly with colleagues at all levels and across departments to drive sales and elevate the customer experience
- Meeting daily sales goal challenges
- This position requires talking, lifting, constant moving, standing, and reaching with arms and hands
- Standing for at least two consecutive hours, lifting up to 50lbs., stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing ladders, reaching, including above eye level
- Requires close vision, color vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment
- Frequent use of computers and other technology, necessary to perform job functions, including handheld equipment, cash register and ability to process register transactions
